Medan – Art

Medan’s art scene is  young and yet to be discovered. With the development of tourism infrastructure, the city is slowly opening its doors to new and exciting attractions including works of art. Most notable amongst gallery options are art outings for families with children.

|Room C Art Gallery

This artist-run gallery is focused on their creative works and holds alternating exhibitions by local, national and international artists. One of the more regular events includes the exhibition on renowned artist, Heri Dono, whose paintings and installations are inspired by the Indonesian puppetry art of Wayang. While the art gallery does not have a website, its Instagram page is frequently updated with new arrivals on display.

Magic Eye 3D Art Museum

A truly unique museum that doubles as entertainment, the Magic Eye 3D Art Museum is all about perspective. Visitors can explore multiple rooms, each with their own larger-than-life mural. Stood in the right location, you are crossing a precarious wood and rope bridge; hitching a ride on a magic carpet in Egypt; or escaping from a giant octopus. With plenty of photo-snapping, visitors can share unforgettable memories with loved ones —making this art gallery the perfect activity for families and children.
