National Gallery of Indonesia
Opened in 1999, the National Gallery of Indonesia is in central Jakarta and consists of an art gallery and a museum. It is considered a cultural institution of great importance to the people of Indonesia, namely in the field of visual arts. The art gallery contains more than 1,770 unique works by artists from both Indonesia and abroad. Most of the more notable triumphs are by Indonesian artists including Raden Saleh and Affandi, with some of the famous foreign works including those by Hans Hartung and Victor Vasarely. The museum hosts a flow of traveling exhibitions which blend modern and contemporary pieces of art.

ART:1 New Museum
Art:1 New Museum is modern commercial art gallery that includes an exhibition space and contemporary Indonesian artwork on display. Visitors will discover much more beyond its paintings and sculptures.. ART:1 New Museum facilitates workshops and classes on-site with a special interest in art education for young children as well as on-topic conservation efforts. The museum includes six unique display rooms, divided between permanent and traveling exhibitions. Generally, tours are guided by museum staff. Photos with smart phones are allowed, but a fee will be charged for visitors who wish to utilize larger camera equipment. While not usually on the map for tourists, the gallery offers a very modern experience with a dedicated focus on Indonesian modern works of art and should not be missed.

Ciputra Museum at Ciputra Artpreneur
The Ciputra Museum is an art gallery that is part of the larger Ciputra Artpreneur complex. Located in Kuningan, Jakarta, the private museum includes more than 30 unique paintings and 18 sketches previously owned by Dr. Ciputra, the venues namesake. The artwork is completely focused on works by Hendra Gunawan and is the largest collection of the artist’s work in Indonesia. In addition, display documents and articles educate visitors on the development of Indonesian art from the modernist period to present day. The modern facility is a well-respected venue for those seeking a subsurface Indonesian experience.
