Bali – Investment & Start-up

Bali has been cited as one of Indonesia’s best cities for start-up companies and investment. Its beautiful backdrop combined with high GDP growth and high-return industries such as tourism have seen a wave of overseas investment over the years. The location generally sees investment in the tourism sector, as new and more sustainable tourism initiatives are required to manage the incredible growth experienced on the island.

Low overheads and an environment of collaborative thinking have also been cited as key reasons to invest in Bali. In addition to tourism, the island has experienced a rapid growth of companies in the IT sector, with the development of infrastructure to support these start-ups. This includes the creation of new co-working spaces and enhanced office infrastructure options at very reasonable rates.

The Bali government has been very supportive of its start-up scene, with various assistance and subsidies available for companies looking to enter the market. Networking events and business meet ups on the island have become more commonplace, making it easy for foreigners and locals to connect.  What is more, the fact that Bali offers low cost of living and a year-round tropical climate only further motivates people to stay and pioneer long-term and sustainable business that contributes greatly to the local economy.
